After the Ruby wedding

After a successful ruby wedding party we went out for a meal at the new "Ken's cafe"  Everyone seemed to have a great time.

Plumbing

Our en-suite power shower finally died this weekend, so I nipped down to B&Q for a replacement.  As is always the case the new shower had quite different fittings to the old.  It was time for some serious plumbing.  I quickly drafted our friends Ron and Fiona to come and help out and we now have a lovely new shower as well as a hole in the wall (hidden inside a cupboard).  

Tom Visits

Tom was invited to a wedding in the nearby village of Bishop's Waltham and so took the opportunity to stay with us.  he arrived early on Friday evening and we went stright out to sample the delights of the local Elm Tree pub.  On Sunday Morning Tom joined us for deckfast on Jim and Sarah's recently completed decking.

A week in Mallorca

We thought it would be nice to sneak away for a weeks relaxation in the sun with nothing to do but drink beer, eat good food, perhaps read a book or two and enjoy the sea.  Here are a few snap shots of our time there.

Who pooed?

Whilst enjoying a quiet beer in Majorca we were lucky enough to see a Hoopoe.  The last time saw one was at a campsite in the Camargue about 17 years ago!

Having stayed here when I was 3 we thought it would be nice to see if the Miramar hotel was still in business.  Well you can see for yourself, it is still there and thriving!

we're all going on a summer holiday...

Just a quick note to say we have booked a last minute summer holiday to Majorca "where the warta don't taste quite how it orta"
